Head of Data and Information BMKG Juanda Surabaya Teguh Tri Susanto said there was indeed a cloud cover that caused the earth's radiation to be re-emitted to earth.
"The maximum temperature in our place is around 35 degrees Celsius. In fact, if you say it's really hot before October, that's not it, actually not too much. But we are more cursed at night," Teguh said when contacted by AFP in Surabaya, Tuesday (12/11) / 2019).
"That can be said because there has been a lot of cloud cover in the afternoon until the evening. That is what causes the earth's night radiation to be emitted into space to return to earth again, reflected back," he added.
Then until when will this happen? Teguh said that this could be interpreted that in the near future rain would occur.
"What is clear is that the formation of clouds in Surabaya tends to be in the afternoon until the evening, many medium clouds have already covered Surabaya and Sidoarjo. These are even signs that later on the weekend rain can occur in Surabaya. This is the process of maturation of rain with mass of air with rain. It's like still gathering energy, "he explained.
When asked whether Surabaya has entered the transition to rainy season, Teguh said that Surabaya has entered the transition season and will enter the beginning of the rainy season.
"Regarding whether Surabaya has entered the transition period, because in November the second week, Surabaya has just entered the rainy season. In Surabaya, Sidoarjo and several other areas in East Java have entered the transition season and have entered the beginning of the rainy season," he explained.
"In this week, it was already in November the second week in Surabaya has entered a transition period. Stay aware of the transition period it will definitely rain later then it could not rain again a week. So if yesterday it rained one day at the beginning of the month, then it doesn't rain again, "he added.
On the same occasion, Teguh estimates that it will rain this weekend.
"If I see many clouds have exploded in the afternoon. We expect the weekend later Sunday or Monday it could have rained in Surabaya," he concluded.
